Meet the up and coming Writer-Directors and filmmakers that we are supporting, helping them to produce their next film. Whether it’s a short or a feature film. Us and our partners believe in raising up the next generation of talent in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Our goal is to not only equip them with the ability to make their next film, but to also help them understand the business of making movies.
DAN MALYK
Dan is a screenwriter, playwright, short story author, cartoonist, and entertainment enthusiast. As a film school graduate based in Vancouver, Dan and Bryce have been working together since meeting on the set of “Impastor” in 2014. Dan has many exciting projects in development and we are thrilled to consider him a head writer with the company. A series of animated shorts titled “Buster Beaver” was created by Dan and premiered on the AB Films YouTube channel on February 14th, 2024.
RUSTY NIXON
Rusty’s a veteran filmmaker who has numerous films on the market place. We have been developing our relationship with him over the last decade and have made a few movies together already. Having an array of screenplays to his repertoire, Nixon’s choice of genre is Horror, Supernatural and thriller. Keep an eye out for his latest feature Death Rumble on Tubi, Amazon Prime and FreeVee.
Barbara Gregusova
A multi-award winner, costume designer. Barbara has a wealth and understanding of storytelling. We have partnered with her to producer her passion project Little Witch is based on the beloved children’s book by Elziabeth Bennet. Still very active as a costume designer (10 season of When Calls the Heart), Barbara’s goal is to become fulltime creative producer with her eyes set on directing.
CHRISTINA BABINSACK
Christina brings a female voice as a filmmaker to AB Films group of talent. Based just outside of Pittsberg, McLaughlin and Christina started to develop her project about the life of Roger Rodas, the best-friend and driver of the car where both Roger and Paul Walker died over a decade ago. They have recently attached New York Producer, Vince P. Maggio to champion and lead the project forward for them.
SHAINE JONES
An actor by craft, Shaine has been writing and developing story ideas for a better part of a decade and a half. Both Jones and McLaughlin have collaborated and produced two shorts, Driver and Puncture. They are collaborating on Shaine’s current film called Licking. A fan of all genres, Shaine’s primary focus is horror thrillers.
CARSON BOKENFOHR
An actor, writer, director, Carson is in the middle of developing his series Spirit Quest, a story of three hapless friends who journey out on a road trip, hoping to find themselves.
They recently completed a pilot episode for the series. AB Films is excited to help sell this project and help them to produce the series.
